Windows Server 2008 亦新增了許多方便管理、部署及維護等的能力,並且首次引入了全指令化管理系統 Server Core (伺服器核心),在不需要圖形使用者介面 (GUI) 或者大量伺服器資源的情況下,減少使用者介面資源消耗,將更多的系統資源分配給伺服器,讓伺服器組件可以有更多的資源空間來應用及運算,無形中可以讓伺服器發揮出更大效能,讓企業得益。
MCITP 是 Windows Server 2008 的最頂級認證,要求考生必須取得三科 MCTS Windows Server 2008 認證後,才可取得 MCITP - Server Administrator 專業資格。MCITP - Server Administrator 認證則具有管理企業各項網路服務的專業能力,包括網路架構服務,Active Directory 服務,用戶端作業系統以及應用服務平台的能力,並且有能力做企業網路服務的全盤規劃。
